The Contactable app currently works on iPhone, iPad and Android devices. We will be launching Windows and Blackberry versions soon. Contactable is also web-based so you are able to register and invite contacts on your Mac, desktop PC or laptop.

No. You select the contact information that you wish to share by setting up different profiles e.g. personal or business profiles. You also define with whom you wish to share your contact details. You can also choose to accept someone else’s shared contact information without having to share any of yours. The essence of Contactable is that it gives you complete control over your contact information whilst automatically keeping your contacts information in your phone book up to date.

No. Contactable will update contact information in your phone book in one of two ways:

A contact in Contactable can be linked to an existing entry in your phone book, if one exists, otherwise a new phone book entry can be created.

Contactable therefore does not replace your phone address book.In fact that is one of the unique and most exciting features of Contactable – no duplicate phone book entries and your phone address book is always automatically current without you having to manually maintain your contacts.

No. Only the phone book entries that are linked to the Contactable application will be backed up on our platform.

Watch this space because it is our intention to provide full back-up in the future.

No. Although Contactable keeps the information in your phone book current, it does not create duplicate entries.

We achieve this by allowing you to link your contacts in the application to the appropriate contact in your phone book.

If you link a Contactable contact to an existing contact in your phone book, it will overwrite the information in your phone book and replace it with the contact information that your contact has chosen to share through Contactable.

This is one of the unique features of Contactable – when one of your contacts updates their contact information, e.g. their phone number or email address, Contactable will automatically update your phone book so that you always have accurate and up-to-date contact information in your phone book.

Yes. Contactable has invested in extremely high levels of data security so no-one has access to your information.

We pride ourselves in being compliant with the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Bill and regard privacy as a core value proposition.

No. The contact will remain as an entry in Contactable but it won't be linked to anything in your phone book any more.

You will need to delete the entry in Contactable if you wish to completely remove it.

No. Contactable is a permission driven technology and provides you with complete control over what contact information you choose to share and with whom you choose share it.

Contactable automatically creates back-ups of your Contactable contacts on our platform. Contactable does not create back-ups of entries in your phone book if they are not linked to Contactable.

Does it automatically delete it from my phone book? No. The contact will remain in your phone book but it will no longer be linked to Contactable. This essentially means that the phone book entry will no longer be automatically kept up-to-date if said contacts details change.

Yes. When you connect and link (Clink) with someone through Contactable, you have the option to link to an existing phone book entry, create a new phone book entry or leave their contact information out of your phone book altogether.

If you elect to not link a contact, or to not create a new contact, in your phone book, then the contact in questions information will only appear in Contactable until such time as you choose to add them, or link them to an existing contact, in your phone book.

No. Contactable is not a social media application and therefore is not designed to update to your social media accounts.

Given that Contactable automatically updates your phone book contacts, by default, if your device’s phone book is linked to any other accounts like Gmail, Exchange, Yahoo etc. then these accounts will also be updated automatically.

Once you have downloaded the Contactable app, all you need to do is log in, using your C-Tag, and all your Contactable contacts can be restored to the phone book of your new phone in a matter of minutes.

Yes. Contactable has been specifically built and optimized for iOS 7. In fact as of February 1, 2014 all developers are required to only submit apps, to the App Store, that are compatible with iOS 7.

Contactable is therefore not designed to run on prior versions of the iOS operating system due to the differences in the way that the User Interface (UI) works.

Contactable has been optimised to work on Samsung Android devices with the latest operating systems installed. You might experience some user interface issues if you are not using Android’s version 4.1.2 of their operating system (or higher). Should you experience user interface issues on devices other than a Samsung please be sure to let us know on support@staycontactable.com so we can look into it for you
